Hello and welcome to my first blog post! I am so very excited that you have found your way to my page. This space is where my passions take the center stage, and I am excited to share what I am passionate about with you all!
While trying to come up for the idea for a blog for my Social Media class, I was really stumped on what to base it on. I just had to many ideas and could not pick one certain “niche.” I then thought of a phrase that has always stuck with me… “a Jack of all Trades is a Master of None, but oftentimes better than a Master of One.”
It clicked! I thought to myself— why would I put myself out there as the master of one when there is so much I wanted to talk about. Life isn’t about specializing in just one thing, at least for me. It’s about dabbling in a variety of interests and what better place to share them than a personalized Blog called Master of None?!
While designing the Logo for my blog I wanted to pay homage to one of my favorite manga’s One Piece. In the comic, we see the reincarnation of the “Sun God Nika” as a silhouette, pictured above. The direction that the art style went in really impacted my overall design for the logo because I wanted to give a vague, yet personal experience. I wanted to be able to put myself and you all in the shoes of that vague Jester and have a little fun while doing it!
A silhouette of a Jester, or the Jack of All Trades felt fitting because like myself, they are carefree and fun— something I want my blog to embody. We all have a little bit of the Master of None in us and it’s important to remember that not everything needs to be mastered, especially if you keep with new things that interest you. This blog is a personal playground for all those “nowhere near an expert, but definitely enthusiastic” types and I would love to hear your thoughts! It would be so cool if this place became a community for likeminded individuals and I thought that the overall brand of 18asterisk would be a cool place for it to live!
I want this blog to be an interactive hub where we can bounce off each other, isn’t there something so special about getting inspired or inspiring someone else?
Thank you for taking the time to stop by and read this first post. I am excited to see where this journey takes us. I like to think that it’s okay not to have it all figured out (sometimes), and the best parts of people come from being a little bit of everything.
